There so many words describing what many are doing with "old, tired, worn out, out of style, used" whatever's that it is hard to know what is the latest term these days.  My favorite has always been "re-designed" because it describes what I have been doing forever with stuff...stuff in my home, my work, my cooking, with my clothes and with things I have discovered in my years of dumpster diving, picking up trash along the road, flea markets and junk stores.  Now, I love working with homes...rooms that need life...areas that need to be re-designed so the living space can feel new again.   I have posted some of the Re-Designed spaces....the before and after!   Some of the pictures are out of order...please hang in there as I learn how to do all the many things that come along with BLogging!!!  By the way,  if you have a room that needs some "RE-Designing", New LIFE!  you can call me and I can give you some ideas...$75 for a Consultation (1-2 hours)

Re-Purposed Chandelier

During re-designing a Dining Room for a Client, part of the plan was to purchase a new Chandelier!  However, when we removed the outdated brass chandelier...I realized what a beautiful chandelier it was and the idea of tossing it away just wasn't in my DNA (I can't throw anything a way that has potential of re-using).  This idea has been done many times by many I am sure...but, this one, I believe is special!  Another Client was in the process of purchasing light fixtures for her home under my direction and she had discovered a very beautiful light for her daughter's room but with cost and the idea we would have to modify it to match, I told her to wait! And then...my first thought went to the pretty brass Chandelier tossed aside, lying there in the darkness of the basement, with the hopes of becoming NEW again!   Well, along with a design board (showing what her new room was going to look like with the new chandelier)...the chandelier, along with a box of jewels, tassels and feathers, was presented to the little girl during her birthday party.  At three years old...the little one looked in a way that said "what in the world is this?"   Well, now that it is up and shining bright...the little girl is delighted and said it was "beautiful!"  "I would say it was a job well done!"
